About Us

image2

The Story of "Armonalla"

Armonalla (Finnish for "under the Mercy," or "under grace") Designs was formed in the summer of 2018,

as a declaration of both emancipation

and hope for deepened partnership.

Then,

we were plunged into a horrendous family tragedy, and our world turned upside down. It has been a trial by fire beyond description, but we have come through it.

He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world:

we declare that we are still "under grace";

we are still "Armonalla."

How to Prepare Your Quilt...

Mark the top if it is directional.

If you provide your own batting, it needs to be 4" larger than your quilt top, both vertically and horizontally

Trim and straighten edges, trim and remove all threads longer than 1/4" from your quilt

No embellishments like buttons or beads -  wait to add those until after the quilt is returned to you.

...Especially Backing Fabric

The backing needs to be 8 inches longer and wider than the quilt top, both vertically and horizontally.

Do not cut off the selvages along the outer edge of the backing.

Backing seams should run in the same direction as the selvages.

Do not press the backing seams open - please press to one side
